E.ON and development partner Miller Birch are set to create Nottingham’s greenest ever office building after gaining planning permission from Nottingham City Council for a new 105,000 sq ft (net) scheme.
Councillor Alan Clark Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Regeneration at Nottingham City Council said: “Having such large office accommodation coming to the city’s Development Control Committee shows the continued confidence that developers, investors and employers have in the city.”
Mark Bielby, Development Director at Miller Birch said, “We will be starting on site in the autumn with E.ON taking occupation in 2012. These offices will set new standards in sustainability and energy efficiency with unrivalled green credentials, a BREEAM excellent rating and EPC ‘A’ certificate. The development will act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this important island site and lead to the creation of a dynamic new business quarter”.
David Bird, Customer Service Director for E.ON’s retail business, said: “We’re delighted the offices have received planning approval today. It’s another step forward in the delivery of this important new facility for our Nottingham city centre teams. E.ON is one of the biggest employers in Nottinghamshire and this development will provide a quality workplace for our staff to continue providing customers with the highest standard of service possible.
