MILLER HOMES ANNOUNCE INVOLVEMENT AT THE ROCK IN BURY

28.06.10  Company:  Miller Homes

Miller Homes has released the first information on its new residential development in Bury town centre.  Called Miller Homes @ The Rock, the scheme completes the line-up in what is now the largest retail, leisure and residential scheme to open in the UK in 2010.

The development  which will be launched on 16 July, houses over 60 retail stores - including M&S, Next, Primark and Debenhams, in addition to a 1,250 space car park, eight restaurants, a ten screen Vue cinema and 24 lane AMF bowling centre.

Miller Homes is currently developing 113, one and two bedroom apartments on the scheme.  Architecturally designed to have a contemporary look and feel, the apartments are situated in two buildings - with 86 homes located above the new M&S store, and a further 27 adjacent to the scheme’s leisure facilities.

Sales Director for Miller Homes North West, Peter Vella, said; “The Rock as a whole will lead to the revival of Bury and enable the town to better compete with Manchester and Leeds.

“From our point of view, we are bringing something new and different to the property market in the area.  We are aiming the apartments at a mix of first time buyers, young professionals, couples, singles and corporate buyers so have designed the homes to have a wide appeal, with a modern touch.  The initial feedback has been extremely positive so we have every reason to believe that Bury is more than ready for a development of this type.”

Miller Homes @ The Rock marks the company’s first return to the town since completing its Miller Brook development in Tottington in 2006.
