Miller Construction (UK) Ltd, in partnership with Guildhouse UK and Community Ventures (Management) Ltd, has secured a place on the ProCure 21+ framework.
The 3-way joint venture, Healthcare Partnership Solutions, has been selected as one of the principal supply chain partners to deliver NHS trusts capital schemes on a partnering basis.

It is anticipated that the new Procure 21+ framework will save the NHS over £200m in procurement costs and will help upgrade hospitals more quickly.  The framework enables the simplification of the procurement process for NHS Trusts for hospital refurbishments or new builds. Under the proposals, work on projects can commence within six weeks resulting in a saving of least six months in the pre-construction period.

Tom de la Motte, Joint Managing Director, Miller Construction (UK) Ltd, said: “Healthcare Partnership Solutions is delighted to have been selected as one of the six delivery partners for the ProCure 21+ framework.  In addition to Miller having an outstanding record in the delivery of first-class medical facilities, this partnership offers service-led solutions as opposed to construction-led designs.  Our capabilities mean that we can deliver any scale of project any where in England.

“Healthcare Partnership Solutions is geared to put the needs of the NHS trusts at the fore, adding value to projects and helping procure solutions.  This may mean that a construction led solution is not always the best option, however, by embracing the partnering ethos that lies at the heart of all Miller undertakes, we will ensure that we work in partnership to deliver the best value for money solutions.”

Health Minister, Simon Burns, said: "The benefits of Procure 21+ are clear – a streamlined system will mean that NHS organisations will be able to concentrate on delivering patient care and improving outcomes.

"The new system will cut bureaucratic waste and allow the NHS to reinvest savings directly into services for patients.

The previous framework delivered successful projects to the value of almost £2bn.  The new framework comes into effect on 1st October 2010 and will run for six years.
